Modern (Legality) - Constantine

As mentioned, Modern is the format that Team Tableflip specializes in. Most of us are Modern players with some other formats on the side.
This is an introduction into Modern as a format.

Firstly, What cards can be played in Modern?
As the name implies, cards with modern card frames can be played in modern. Which means every card since Wizards decided to change the card frames back in 8th edition is Modern playable minus a small ban list.

Modern, Not Modern

Referring above, the Birds of paradise on the left is in the modern card frame whereas the Birds on the right isn't. However, the birds on the right is still playable in modern. Because it has been printed in later editions, its legal for play.

The ban list includes (as of this posting)
Ancestral Vision
Ancient Den
Bitterblossom
Blazing Shoal
Chrome Mox
Cloudpost
Dark Depths
Dread Return
Glimpse of Nature
Golgari Grave-Troll
Great Furnace
Green Sun's Zenith
Hypergenesis
Jace, the Mind Sculptor
Mental Misstep
Ponder
Preordain
Punishing Fire
Rite of Flame
Seat of the Synod
Sensei's Divining Top
Stoneforge Mystic
Skullclamp
Sword of the Meek
Tree of Tales
Umezawa's Jitte
Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
Vault of Whispers
Wild Nacatl

That's it for the legality of cards in modern. Next, i will be talking about the different playstyles and decks existent in the Singaporean Metagame. Until next time!
